Well yesterday evening I was probably the most tired I have been since I started this thing. Since my last blog - which was only yesterday - I'll give you a qucik run-down on what I have done - to explain.
So the Monday public holiday I headed into the gym in the morning. I wasn't feeling as energetic as the previous day, but nevertheless, I still did 40 mins on the treadmill, running at 9 km/h for 2 mins, followed by 1 min at 6 km/h. I wanted to give up at 30 mins, but pushed myself to 40.
It was not as much as I normally do, however there is a reason. That evening I had arranged to do a walk with my sister. It was her birthday during the week, and she wanted me instead of getting her a present, to help motivate her to lose a little weight. So at about 8:30, we headed off, in the cold windy weather, for a brisk walk into the city. Below is where we trekked.
It was about 70 mins walking, and over 6 klms. So a big day!
Tuesday was my PT session with Ben. We started with 7 mins on the cross trainer - 5 mins of that interval training. Then off to the studio for 15 mins of circuit. Then back to the gym for more cardio - 10 mins interval on the rower. Then back to the studio for more circuit. I knew that I was tired as I could not put the effort into it that I normally do. The rower I was struggling to keep the average under 2 mins. And afterwards my back was really sore - so I think I must not have been doing it correctly. Also doing the circuit, I could feel that I was not going as hard as I normally do.
Every second Tuesday is my Starlight volunteering - and I normally leave work at 4:30pm to get home in time. However as the PT session finished at 5, after all that I had to run home! I managed to run most of the way. Needless to say, when I arrived at Starlight I was well & truly stuffed. I could barely stand up. Also I was ravenously hungry. I did bring a muesli bar, apple & bottle of water from home, but that was not enough. Unfortunately the only things there to eat were junk food - so I succumed to my hunger & had a pack of chips, a freddo & 8 minties! I did not feel good after. I should remember that.
After that I headed to the Kirribilli club to celebrate Liam's birthday - and had dessert there too!
So today I'm feeling a little better - legs are still a little jellyish - but luckily I also have a massage today. So I'll see how i'm feeling after that before I decide whether to do exercise today or give myself a rest.
