Howdy.
My new phone has a Pedometer built in - and it has a 'healthy target' to meet - of 10,000 steps per day. Since i've been using it, i've hit the target - 2 out of 2 days!!! Tuesday & Today, after work, I went to the gym, and did interval training on the treadmill - running and walking for 20 mins. Then I walked home.
Yesterday - 10112 steps
Today - 10051 steps!! - that's not joking either - I did 'just' hit the target. Before I went to the gym I was at 4500 - after I was 7000. When I got home, I was 10006!!
I know what i'm doing is good, and enough, as by the time i'm halfway across the bridge i'm getting a stich!! And the final 'ramp' up to High St is a bugger!!
So... feeling good!
And if anyone's wondering what sort of phone has a built in pedometer - its the new Sony W705. Free on the Optus $49 cap - not that i'm trying to sell them ;-) !!!

OK, firstly - I am so surprised there are no photo's, hyperlinks or advertisements for the phone and Optus World Neutral Bay - or is that just because you won't be working to make the sale the next three Saturdays? hehe
ReplyDeleteCool and possibly healthy feature finally on a mobile phone, kind of ironic since the mobile is to blame for so many weight/health issues these days.
Forget the phones healthy goal of 10,000 Petey, go for 15-20K or at least a good 10K in a single session of an hour or so, staggered across the course of a whole day like this is ok, but you need to really sweat it at least once every other day.
I just calculated my steps which I can really only do based on my time on x-trainer each day, and I'm doing nearly 10K in that hour alone, granted I don't walk to work and back......
Keep going Petey, very proud of you schnookums! xx
Hi Pete, A pedometer is a great way to see how much activity you are doing roughly. Now you've dropped 10 kilos and getting fitter, why not start a bit of jogging in stead of walking. Jog a bit, walk a bit, jog a bit. To help fat burn it's best to get the heart rate up, then back off, then get the heart rate up, then back off etc. Aim for over 12500 steps a day
ReplyDeleteGot to keep physically pushing yourself. Remember you've carried the weight for a long time so it won't come off over night. You may be at a plateau which happens (hence the slow weightloss last week). Time to test your strength and will power to keep fighting to drop the weight off.
Keep staying motivated, keep working harder and harder and you'll be back on the loss.
Well done Pete, we are all here to support you on your journey!!!
